Kaziranga National Park closes for monsoon, to reopen in November 1, 2011

The Kaziranga National Park in Assam has been closed for tourists from May 1, 2011 with approaching monsoon in the state. According to a report in The Times of India, the park authorities said no domestic or foreign tourists will be able to visit the park till November 1, 2011 , when it will re-open again.


With rising demands of tourists, the Kaziranga authorities opened all the four ranges Kohora,BagoriAgoratoli and Burhapahar for the first time in November last year. Surajit Dutta, Director, Kaziranga National Park said, “Apart from opening all the four ranges, we also introduced boat safaris from this year for visitors in the park.”'
